Metal/ Ring /RTJ Gaskets

FEATURE

Type of energetic gaskets meant for high temperature and pressure applications

It has great mechanical strength or heat resistivity.

Standard size gaskets are manufactured in accordance to API 6A, API 17D and ASME B16.5 /B 16.20 specifications.

The hardness of the ring should always be less than the hardness of the flanges to prevent flange deformation.

Octagonal and Oval are basic shapes are used in pressures up to 10000 psi (64 MPa).

Octagonal cross section has a higher sealing efficiency than the oval and would be preferred gasket.

Wide range of materials is available for selection and can be in the range of R11 to R105.

Used as gasket of pipe flanges and valve bonnets handling high pressure steam, gas, hot oil, oil gas, solvent vapour oxygen at high temperature in oil refineries, petrochemical plants, thermal plants and high pressure valves.

       TYPE RX AND BX JOINTS

RX ring gaskets are similar in shape to the standard octagonal RTJ gasket but their cross section is designed to take advantage of the contained fluid pressure in effecting seal.

Made to API 6A and interchangeable with standard octagonal rings for oil field drilling and production applications in API 6B flanges

RX is used at pressures up to 15000 psi (103 MPa).

BX ring gaskets differs from the standard oval or octagonal shape since it is square in cross section and tapers in each corner.

BX ring can only be used at pressures up to 15,000 psi.

   RING JOINTS - SEALING RINGS

These are self sealing gaskets employed in high pressure and high temperature valve covers.

These gaskets receive initial seating stress by tightening the bolt and are then expanded radically by the end force of the fluid to produce the required sealing pressure.

      SSG - LENS TYPE GASKETS

A lens type gasket is a line contact seal for use in high pressure piping systems and in pressure vessel heads.

The lens cross section is a spherical gasket surface and requires special machining on flanges.

These gaskets will seat with a small bolt load since the contact area isvery small and gasket seating pressures are very high.

In ordering lens gaskets, complete drawings and material specifications must be supplied.

      PLAIN FLAT RING TYPE

Flat metal gaskets are best suited for applications such as valve bonnets, ammonia fittings, heat exchangers, hydraulic presses, tongue and grooved joints.

They can be used when compressibility is not required to compensate for flange finish, war page or misalignment, and where sufficient clamping force is available to seat the particular metal selected.

They must be sealed by the flow of the gasket metal in to imperfections on the gasket seating surfaces of the flange.

This typically requires heavy compressive forces and hardness of the gasket metal must be less than the hardness of the flange to prevent damage.

Relatively inexpensive to produce and virtually any material that is available in sheet form. Though size limitation is restricted to sheet size, larger gaskets can be made by welding.

      METAL O - RING GASKETS

Round cross section solid metal gaskets are used on specifically designed flanges grooved.

These gaskets seal by a line of contact which provides an initial high seating stress at low bolt loads.

This makes ideal gaskets for low pressures.

More common materials used for this type of gasket would be ALUMINIUM, COPPER, SOFT IRON, MONEL, NICKEL and 300 series STAINLESS STEELS.

They are fabricated from wire, formed to size and welded and polished to exact diameter.

It can also be made without any joints
